Brad Ashford, Of Counsel
Brad Ashford graduated from Westside High School in Omaha, Nebr. in 1967. He received a B.A. from Colgate University, in Hamilton, N.Y. in 1971 PHI BETA KAPPA. He served as an Intern for Senator Roman Hruska while at Colgate. He received his J.D. from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebr., in 1974. He served as a staff Attorney for the Federal Highway Administration in DC from 1974 to 1975.
Brad has served as a hearing examiner for the Nebraska department of education and as a judge on the then Nebr. court of industrial relation. He has been in the private practice of law in Omaha since 1975. He owned and operated his family business until 2007. He served in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature for 16 years including 8 years as the Chair of the Judiciary Committee. He served as the Executive Director of the Omaha Housing Authority from 2003 to 2006 during which OHA developed 300 public housing units. He also was an original board member on the Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority responsible for the development and operation of the then Qwest Center (Century Link Center).
Brad served in the United States Congress from 2015 to 2017 where he was on the Agriculture Committee and the Armed Services Committee. He traveled to the MidEast on two occasions and Europe on one occasion as a member of Armed Services.
Brad has extensive experience in labor law, regulatory law, legislation, and real estate and is Of Counsel with the firm.
