Dave Houghton practices in the firm's business and commercial litigation groups. Dave regularly handles litigation involving construction, insurance coverage disputes, professional negligence, real estate, commercial contracts, governmental investigations, personal injury and complex business disputes.
Dave devotes a large portion of his practice to construction and design law. He represents contractors, specialty subcontractors, design professionals, developers and owners in litigation and all alternative dispute resolution matters. Dave also counsels clients before and during construction projects and has significant experience in drafting and negotiating construction and design agreements.
In addition to his litigation practice, Dave advises his clients on a wide array of legal issues, including: claims, administrative and governmental investigations, negotiating and drafting complex construction and architectural and design contracts, and general corporate counsel services.
Dave graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law and is a member of the Omaha, Nebraska State and American Bar Associations, as well as the ABA forum on the Construction Industry. Prior to Joining the Firm, Dave practiced with a litigation-focused firm in Lincoln, Nebraska where he gained valuable courtroom experience. Before attending law school, Dave worked in the insurance and finance industry.
